Most of the orphans who lost their families, who were left unattended and unprotected, especially due to wars and illegal occupations, are in Muslim territories. According to official figures, there are nearly 200 million orphans in the world. However, this number of orphans does not include those from countries such as China, Myanmar, Afghanistan, as well as from countries in the Middle East. Considering even this, it is estimated that there are approximately 400 million orphans around the world.

As Sadaka Gölgesi, we have met the basic needs of more than 300 orphans as of first half of 2021. The country where most of our orphans are found is Syria, which is currently at the center of war. Some of our orphans do not have either parents, and some have just one of them. By considering these sad statistics, we would want to continue this noble task throughout our existence and we are working for it to be in a way that will be most beneficial. We not only meet shelter, food and medical needs of our orphans; we also organize such child-entertaining projects that are aimed at making the kids joyful so that they can stay happy and positive in these difficult conditions.

What do we provide the Orphans?

With the sponsorship programs that we have created for orphans, we meet at least one of their lacking basic needs such as shelter, food or clothing on a monthly basis. During Eid festivals and other time periods, to become a part of their joy, we undertake various other activities, arrange tours, and make them cheerful with gifts such as toys, etc.

What Information is Provided to the Sponsors?

A brochure is prepared for the information of our sponsors containing the name, surname, photograph and hometown details of the orphans they will sponsor. Project sponsors can easily make their monthly or annual donations to the IBAN information provided on the brochure by specifying the orphan ID, which is also present on the brochure, in the payment transfer statement/remarks field.

Apart from sponsorship, our project also covers for our donors who want to donate for orphans in general and to orphanages. As a matter of fact, they are our orphans and we have no doubt that we will be rewarded for the efforts and sacrifices we make for them, whether we see it or not.
